The Governors and Head Teacher at Alder Grange are looking to appoint a Teacher of English, either full-time or part-time. Alder Grange has recently been inspected and has retained its "Good" rating, with the English department receiving special mention for its achievements. We are looking to appoint from September, but understand for experienced teachers you may not be available until January 2023.
You would be joining an innovative and supportive English team –with teachers both recently qualified and highly experienced. The department has a strong history of supporting teachers through training and newly qualified/early careers – therefore this role could also suit someone in their first or second year of teaching. That doesn’t mean we wouldn’t welcome applications from experienced teachers too – of course we would, we welcome applications from across the experience range. Applicants wishing to work part-time are also encouraged to apply.
All our teachers are actively involved in pastoral support – and the successful candidate would also be a form tutor.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Information provided by you or the Disclosure and Barring Service will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with the DBS's Code of Practice. You may view the Code of Practice on the DBS website at www.gov.uk/dbs or alternatively a copy is available on request. Lancashire County Council has a Handling of DBS Certificate Information Policy this is available from the recruiting manager to applicants who are asked to complete a DBS application.
Lancashire County Council has a Policy Statement on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders this is available to all applicants upon request.
