Information
Head-teacher position with effect from April 2022 or earlier if possible. The present head-teacher has been in post for five years. The vacancy arises from her promotion to the headship of a larger local school from January 2022.

The school is located in the heart of the thriving village of Silverdale (pop approx. 1500), which is within the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on the north east shore of Morecambe Bay. The school greatly values its strong links with the parish church of St John. Silverdale is about five miles from junction 35 of the M6 motorway and has a railway service to Lancaster and Barrow. The school was founded in the 1890s; half the buildings are of that date and there have been additions over the last few decades. The school has substantial grounds with views towards the local hills and coast. Further information can be found on the school website. The proportion of pupils for whom Pupil Premium funding is provided is below average. The Governors uphold the school’s strong Christian character and aim for it to be a central hub of the village community.

Could you be the vigorous and dynamic head-teacher who can further inspire our pupils to achieve their full academic, spiritual, moral, social and cultural potential?

  • a supportive and diligent governing body
