Information
The Governors of Abbey Village Primary School would like to welcome a new headteacher to our school from January 2022.

Our school has a long tradition of providing excellent education for our local children across the generations and, as this post includes a teaching role (currently 0.4), we are looking for an outstanding teacher who is a highly motivated leader able to inspire our children to achieve their best. Our approach to teaching and learning aims to encourage every child to develop a love of learning, unlock their true potential and prepare them to successfully meet the challenges of the next stage of their education and their lives.

The school has mixed age classes and from September 2021 we will operate 3 classes: Sunnyhurst (Reception and Year 1) with a maximum of 5 nursery children to join the school in January 2022, Anglezarke ( Year 2 and Year 3) and Roddlesworth ( Years 4, 5 and 6). Total school numbers on roll for September 2021 are expected to be 56.

  • Has a clear educational philosophy and vision and a desire to enhance and develop the existing strengths of the school. We are aspiring to be an outstanding school.
  • Holds high expectations of children's achievement and behaviour.
  • Is an excellent communicator and is able to build trust and respect through thoughtful and confident leadership.
  • Can build strong relationships using community engagement and active marketing to increase the pupil roll of our school.
