Information
The Governing Body and Headteacher of West Lancashire Community High School are currently inviting applications for the post of a Class Teacher within Key Stage 5.

The post is for a Main Pay Scale Teacher with SEN points (1 or 2 dependent on qualifications and experience).

We are looking for a full-time class teacher, teaching students with generic learning difficulties. There is also the potential for off-site learning on a one to one basis for students unable to attend school.

The start date for the post: 1 September 2021

West Lancashire Community High School is a vibrant school and is currently rated as Good by Ofsted. Our students all have a statement of special educational needs or an Education Health Care Plan. We currently have 114 students on roll aged between 11 and 19 years. In addition, there are a number of students from local high schools who attend one day a week to access our outreach provision - horticulture and small animals.

From September 2021 our school will be organised into four departments:
Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Key Stage 5 and a Learning Suite for ASD/complex needs from across all key stages.

The school has achieved recognition in the following areas:
Leading Parent Partnership, National Autistic Society Forest Schools, International Schools

All teachers deliver English and Maths curriculum. Teachers remain with their class predominantly, however on occasions you may be asked to work in different departments, when need dictates. You will be responsible for directing and monitoring support staff in delivering predeveloped learning to individuals/groups of students.

Each class teacher is a subject leader and you will be expected to develop and lead in that subject across school, supporting other teachers in its delivery.
