Information
Why are some cereals magnetic? What design will be most effective on our Fair-Trade packaging? Who chooses street names? Where does our food come from? How many blue whales could fit along our running track?

These are just some of the questions our well-behaved children have explored recently as part of our curriculum, which 'teaches to the heart'. If you believe in engaging children with their learning, want them to be taught creatively and promote good outcomes for all then read on. If you believe in working closely with the community and that education changes lives, then we could be the school for you.

We are seeking to appoint a head teacher with the vision and experience to lead our school and build on our successes in the school improvement journey. We seek the best for our children. We would like our new head teacher to share our passion. Are you the motivated, adaptable, energetic and strategic leader we want for our friendly, welcoming school?

Oh, and if you are still wondering, our running track is around 12 blue whales in length.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and ambitious person who has a passion for education and can inspire our lovely children in realising our school motto:
'We teach to the heart.'

Our new head teacher will:

Be an experienced leader, with the proven and adaptive ability to build on our successful achievements and lead the school forward building on its many strengths.

Promote and celebrate the inclusive ethos of the school and enthuse our children to enjoy their learning to achieve lifelong success through a creative and inspiring curriculum.

Be able to celebrate and promote quality first teaching throughout school that is creative, innovative and uses the strengths of our excellent staff team. Effectively deploy senior leadership and all our staff while promoting staff wellbeing.

Be an approachable, communicative and caring leader who can build excellent relationships with our children, staff, parents, governors and the wider community, always having the children's learning, attainment, aspirations and well-being at the heart of every decision.

We can offer you:

An inclusive school community where happy, friendly children develop a love of learning and respect for one another.

An enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated team of teachers and support staff who worked hard to achieve a good Ofsted rating in March 2020 and who will respond positively to new ideas and strong, inclusive leadership.

A friendly and welcoming learning environment in a modern school building set in spacious grounds with excellent outdoor learning resources for creative learning. The local environment of Lancaster and Morecambe Bay provide fantastic learning opportunities and places for educational visits.

Supportive parents who value the ethos of the school and want what is best for their children and the school.

The opportunity to shape and develop your own leadership team that can guide the school through a period of transition and beyond.

A loyal, supportive and informed Governing Board who are well placed and committed to supporting the school in building on its strengths and successes.

A commitment to continuing to support your professional development.
