Summary
Lostock Hall Community Primary School is a large two form entry primary school.   Recently rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted.  We are closely linked with Embrace Teaching School Hub and part of Axia Learning Alliance. We are seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching Assistant to work in KS1 & KS2 who could work well within our friendly and dedicated team in our popular and successful school.  Experience of working with children in these year groups is essential. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible team player who has high expectations of all children to support the class teacher in a whole class setting and deliver intervention sessions to groups of children. You will assist in the delivery, evaluation and adaptation of the curriculum.

Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher you will:
  • Implement learning activities for individuals and groups
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher
  • Establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils
  • The role will include daily lunchtime supervision of pupils, first aid, gate and playground duties

    This is a temporary role for 12 months, working 31 hours 40 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am- 3.20pm with 30 minutes for lunch.   • Essential Qualifications
  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy  and Mathematics/Numeracy
  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent)

  • Desirable Qualifications
  • First Aid certificate

  • Experience of working with or caring for children in Key Stage 1 & 2.
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment 
  • Experience of covering the class in the absence of the teacher
