The Governors of Shakespeare Primary School are looking to recruit a Higher level Teaching Assistant to work in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The post is for a HLTA working 30 hours on a permanent contract starting January 2026.

This position is part time, working 30 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days. Please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent and if successful the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.

- Essential Qualifications

- NVQ Level 2 or above qualification (appropriate to post)
- Level 2 or above qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
- Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age
- Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment
- Experience of administrative work
- Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
- NVQ Level 2 or above qualification (appropriate to post)
- Essential Experience

- has excellent communication and knowledge of the primary curriculum
- is willing to take part in in-house training in line with their job description
- is an experienced HLTA
- has sound knowledge and understanding of child development

- A firm understanding of KS2 English and the national curriculum.
- Be able to inspire pupils and make learning an exciting experience.
- Expert knowledge in SEND, with proven ability to support pupils with diverse needs.
- Highly skilled in adaptive teaching approaches in KS1 & KS2.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork skills.
- Experienced and confident in covering classes, planning lessons.
- A firm understanding of KS2 English and the national curriculum.
