Our governors and staff are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and diverse school. Frenchwood Community Primary School are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

- Essential Qualifications

- NVQ level 3 Teaching Assistant or above qualification (or equivalent)
- Level 2 or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
- NVQ level 3 Teaching Assistant or above qualification (or equivalent)
- Desirable Qualifications

- First Aid qualification.
- Good communication skills with staff, parents and children.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Administrative skills.
- Knowledge of Key Stages 1 and 2.
- Ability to make effective use of ICT.
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures.
- Experience of working with parents of pupils with additional needs.
- First Aid qualification.
- Essential Experience

- Experience of working with children in a relevant classroom environment and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Ability to supervise and assist pupils.
- Knowledge/experience of pupils with SEND/SEMH and the ability to adapt strategies to support with children with additional needs.
- Ability to assess children's development.
- Experience of managing and teaching a whole class, when required.
- Experience of working with children in a relevant classroom environment and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Desirable Experience

- Commitment to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
- Commitment to undertake in-service development.
- Time management and organisation skills.
- Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Insight, Pivats and CPOM's.
- Experience of interventions with groups of children.
- Experience of working with Children with EAL needs and support the Class Teacher.
- Commitment to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
