Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life?
Manor Road Primary School is seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work part-time with a child in Year 5 who has Down’s Syndrome. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who believes in inclusive education and is eager to support the individual needs of a wonderful pupil. You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo to provide tailored 1:1 support that promotes the child’s learning, independence and well-being.
Responsibilities include:- Supporting the child within class and during unstructured times
- Adapting learning tasks to suit individual needs
- Encouraging communication, interaction and engagement
- Promoting social development and inclusion with peers
- Liaising with teachers, parents and outside agencies
- Administering a nebulizer
We are looking for someone who:- Has experience supporting children with special educational needs (experience with Down’s Syndrome is desirable)
- Is patient, nurturing and positive
- Can follow guidance and work well as part of a team
- Is able to build strong, trusting relationships

Working hours are 1.15pm - 3.30pm Monday to Friday
