Summary

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated and suitable person to take on the role of a teaching assistant within our school. The post will primarily involve working in 1 to 1 with a child in a reception class. The post is initially until the end of the school year but could be extended pending a budget review.

The successful candidate must have: - high expectations with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, the ability to communicate clearly and positively within a highly effective team, a strong commitment to achieving the highest standards in terms of learning development and well being, a team player who will be ready to be flexible and adaptable and support in the wider school activities and be knowledgeable, hardworking, enthusiastic and caring. This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis

Essential Qualifications

NVQ level 2 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent)

GCSE grade c or level 2 equivalent qualifications in English and maths. 

Desirable Qualifications

First aid

Essential Experience

Experience of supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities

Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age

Desirable Experience

Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment

Experience of administrative work

Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

Experience liaising with external agencies
