Summary
Moss Side Primary School wishes to appoint a positive, patient and committed School Business Support Officer to our school. The role will involve being the crucial first contact with school for many pupils, families and visitors, whether in person or by telephone. As well as the requirement to create a welcoming and informative environment upon ‘first contact’ with school, the appointed person will also have areas of specific responsibility, including (but not limited to) daily attendance monitoring and the supply of information to the rest of the team, alongside the regular updating of risk assessments to support the safe running of school.

An understanding of organisation and account reconciliation will also be a required in order to fulfil this role. The successful applicant will be required to work alongside the school business manager, as well as headteacher and family support worker (as well as the wider school team) in order to ensure the smooth administration of Moss Side, within the ethos of our school.

Moss Side Primary School has an excellent reputation in the area and is consistently oversubscribed. We serve the Moss Side area of Leyland, where our catchment caters to a diverse range of pupils, contributing to a dynamic school community. We pride ourselves on our close working relationship with our parents, who we invite into school on a regular basis and communicate with via our ‘open door’ approach.

The role is 26.8 hours per week, on a permanent basis, commencing 03.11.25 (Mon, Tues, Weds, Fri, 8:10am-12.40pm and Thurs 8:10am-4:30pm). Until at least April 2026, there is also the possibility of extended hours (until 4:30pm on all other days). We would also wish to include some training time prior to this for the successful candidate. All of this can be discussed at interview, as can notice periods should this be applicable to any candidates.
