We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Family Support Worker to join our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school based in Fleetwood, Lancashire. This is a varied and impactful role supporting pupils and families across the county who are experiencing significant barriers to education and engagement.
Your work will include:- Travelling across Lancashire to provide targeted outreach and support to families and pupils struggling with school attendance and engagement.
- Supporting children both pastorally and academically, including direct involvement in classroom learning and behaviour support.
- Educating pupils offsite—this could be in their homes or public/community spaces—particularly those who are currently unable to attend the main school site.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with families to foster a supportive and collaborative approach to improving outcomes.
- Attending multi-agency meetings (CIN, TAF, LAC), completing Early Help Assessments (EHAs), and maintaining high standards of reporting and record-keeping.
We’re seeking someone who has:- A child and family-centred approach, with the ability to stay calm, empathetic, and constructive in challenging situations.
- Experience working with young people with complex needs and the resilience to support them and their families through adversity.
- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and use initiative effectively.
