Summary
The children, staff and governing body of Lea Community Primary School are looking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant who will be a role model for our children and support them to achieve the best possible outcomes.

This position is to work alongside the class teacher to support quality learning provision and deliver quality interventions to meet the specific needs of individual children and small groups. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Build strong and positive relationships with the children, class teacher and families.
  • Follow and support our Relational Policy and have a positive approach to building relationships and managing behaviour.
  • Have a passion for supporting inclusive learning, emotional well-being and the development of children.
  • Have experience of working with children, ideally in a primary setting.
  • Have knowledge of the primary national curriculum and assessment for learning.
  • Enhance the learning opportunities for the children.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure continuity of learning and quality first adaptive teaching.
  • Deliver interventions that meet the needs of all learners, supported by the class teacher, Pastoral Leader or SENCO.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to contribute to children’s learning and provide thorough feedback to the class teacher and the children’s families.
  • Be committed to whole school life and be willing to support extra-curricular activities and school events.

    This will be a fixed term contract from 1 September 2025 until 31 August 2026 (pending funding review by May 2026).

  • Essential Qualifications
  • Maths & English GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C or above.
