Summary

The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, passionate and caring SEN Teaching Assistant who is committed to raising standards and able to work as part of our team within our SEND Unit.  We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can use their initiative to join our dedicated team. The role will involve working in a small group environment that enables children with learning difficulties to thrive.

We would like you to have experience of working with children who have learning difficulties, particularly social interaction and communication, and are looking for someone who has experience of working with children, who are working behind their chronological age.

You will be expected to work under the guidance of the SENCo to deliver a personalised curriculum to meet individual needs.

Essential Qualifications
Maths and English GCSE, Grade C or above
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
Additional SEN Qualifications: please state on application form
An understanding of child development and how to support a child with special educational needs.
First Aid Certificate
Good written and oral communication skills
Essential Experience
Working in a school environment
Working with a child on a 1:1 basis, and in small groups, supporting additional needs.
