Hutton Church of England Grammar School is delighted to be looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant (Level 2b) with previous experience of supporting young people with SEND to join our thriving team.
The role will be flexible to include:
- to work with teachers in a collaborative way to plan and deliver interventions across the curriculum.
- Support in class across all curriculum subjects
- Provide exam support as a reader and scribe
In addition, you should show in your application that you have these skills and qualities:

- Experience of working with young people to provide personalised learning experiences
- Confident in supporting vulnerable pupils

- An ability to be self-motivated and manage time effectively

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and will have a flexible approach to the tasks they undertake. The position will be ideally suited to someone with previous experience working within a busy school environment. Knowledge and experience of strategies to support SEND students would also be an advantage.
This is a fixed term contract for the 2025-26 academic year. There may be the possibility of extension if funding is available and additional support is required. The post-holder will work Monday - Friday during term time plus INSET days and the hours of work will be 8:35am - 3:05pm. The salary quoted above will be paid pro rata due to the part-time, part-year nature of the role and will be between £16,242 - £17,588, depending on experience. These figures are expected to increase subject to the NJC pay award.
