We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced, reliable and highly skilled teaching assistant, who has proven experience of working within a primary school, to work within our existing hardworking and dedicated team. Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher, the successful applicant will be expected to plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups.
We are looking for someone who has experience of delivering intervention and can support groups of children across a range of abilities. They may also be required to provide emergency short term cover for classes to which they are normally assigned, when the class teacher is unexpectedly unavailable.
The successful candidate will:
- be an excellent team player who understands the demands, and joys, of working within a primary setting
- have high expectations for pupil learning, behaviour and attainment;
- have previous experience of working in a primary setting and of delivering successful interventions in English, maths and phonics;
- have previous experience of developing early mathematical, literacy and speech and language skills
- have experience and knowledge of the foundation stage;
- have excellent organisational and communication skills;
- be able to work using their own initiative, and be able to use this to enhance the learning opportunities for the learning taking place;
- be fully supportive of our distinctly Christian ethos;
- be punctual, reliable and hardworking;
- support pupils as part of a planned inclusion programme
- assist and support the effective management of behaviour
- be able to communicate clearly, and to a high standard both verbally and in writing, while also having the ability to build good relationships with children parents, staff and the wider community.
We are offering a permanent contact. The required hours are approx 17.5hrs negotiable on days and times at interview
The post holder will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
