At The Breck Primary School, we are proud to operate our own school kitchen, with all kitchen staff employed directly by the school. We are currently seeking a Level 5 Catering Manager to join our dedicated team, following the departure of one of our much-valued colleagues.
The successful candidate will work alongside our existing Catering Manager to plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals - made from scratch - for our pupils, providing up to 220 hot meals every day. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about food, children’s wellbeing, and working as part of a supportive team. For the right person, there may also be the opportunity to progress beyond the advertised pay grade over time.
Experience of large scale catering is essential, as is an up to date understanding of food hygiene and allergen requirements, health and safety relating to catering and nutritional standards required in schools. Experience of working in a school kitchen would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement.
The post holder will work Monday-Friday during term time, 8.00 am – 1.30 pm plus an additional 5 days which are to be worked on 3 in school INSET days and the equivalent of 2 days worked as additional hours to support school events such as Open Evenings. There is the potential to review the number of hours per week worked as needed. The salary quoted will be reduced to reflect the part-year nature of the role.
If you're ready to bring your skills and passion to our school community, we’d love to hear from you.
Please note CVs are not accepted, to apply for this vacancy you need to complete the application form attached.
Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
