Summary
Due to the promotion of the existing post-holder we are looking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to join our in-house Catering Team.

Hutton Grammar is a Church of England 11-18 comprehensive school, judged ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in May 2022 and ‘Outstanding’ by SIAMS in 2018. The school admits boys only at 11-16 and boys and girls in the Sixth Form.

The school kitchen is busy and popular and currently offers a breakfast service before school and a limited break time service in our Sixth Form Centre in addition to the lunch service each day. 

The successful candidate will work with our Catering Manager to support the preparation and service of high quality meals to our students and staff. They will play an integral part in the running of the school kitchen including meal preparation, kitchen maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards.

Experience of large scale catering is essential, as is an up to date understanding of food hygiene and allergen requirements, health and safety relating to catering and nutritional standards required in schools. Experience of working in a school kitchen would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement.

The post holder will work Monday-Friday during term time plus an additional 5 days which are to be worked on 3 in school INSET days and the equivalent of 2 days worked as additional hours to support school events such as Open Evenings. The salary quoted will be reduced to reflect the part-year nature of the role and would start at £21,177 a year.
