We refer to ourselves as 'The school with a heart, in the town with a heart' here at Fleetwood High School. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant SENCo / HLTA to support our SENCo in ensuring that pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) have equal access to educational opportunities. This role involves coordinating and delivering interventions, supporting students, and working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SENCO in the application and review of EHCPs.
- Coordinate testing for Access Arrangements and collaborate with the exams officer.
- Organize and deliver small group interventions for identified students.
- Monitor and evaluate student responses to learning activities.
- Provide one-on-one support and classroom assistance.
- Modify lessons and deliver literacy and numeracy programs.
- Liaise with external agencies and specialist teachers.
- Meet with parents and carers, attend Parents Evenings and Open Evenings.
- Coordinate and supervise Teaching Assistants, including recruitment, appraisal, and training.

- Essential Qualifications

Recognised and relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
- Desirable Qualifications

NVQ Level 4 qualification or equivalent
HLTA status (would need to commit to achieving this within an agreed time frame)
