Summary
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and committed level 2b teaching assistant (Grade 5 SCP 6-11) from Easter 2025 to join our friendly and hardworking staff. This position is for 27.5 hours per week, term-time only. We are looking for someone with previous experience of supporting children with special educational needs. The candidate will work on a 1:1 basis, or small group supporting children with SEND. The successful candidate will also deliver small group interventions. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic about children’s learning and will be committed to providing a secure, happy and exciting learning environment, which meets the needs of all learners. This post will suit an experienced TA2 with a track record of high expectations, excellent behaviour and classroom management skills and educational success in the classroom.

St Mary’s RC Primary school is a small primary school in Haslingden. We are also Lancashire Research School. We have been given ‘outstanding school’ status in our last 3 OFSTED inspections, our most recent one being in July 2024. Essential Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or above qualification - appropriate to the post (or equivalent)

Essential Experience
• A passion for working with pupils with Additional Needs and a commitment to helping them succeed
• Experience of working in a primary school environment
• Experience of supporting children with special educational needs.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills

Desirable Experience
• Experience of delivering interventions to small groups
• A good understanding of the needs of neuro divergent children
• Expertise in communication and interaction skills and experience in supporting young children who are neuro divergent with these skills
