At Burscough Village Primary School, we pride ourselves on being a nurturing school. We are looking for a passionate teaching assistant to work with our junior children. We want our children to flourish with the right support and guidance. In a recent parental survey; it was reported that staff go ‘above and beyond’ and the suitable candidate should have this ‘Can do’ attitude.
We are a fully inclusive school and have a strong skills set amongst our support staff. Staff attend regularly training and enhance their own understanding to meet the needs of our school and children. The candidate should have excellent knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, be able to support in class alongside the teacher and deliver English and Maths interventions. Candidates who have experience working within a school or special needs unit would be favourable.
Our school curriculum drivers are Achieve, Nurture, Growth-Mindset, Environment, Community and Pupil Voice. We provide a range of activities based on these values, so our children become well- rounded individuals. We are looking for employees who will adopt a warm, caring and friendly approach.
We would like our new members of staff to be fully involved in school life. This includes community projects, musical productions, organising events and supporting with school trips. We use positive praise to encourage the children to thrive in a caring environment. We expect the candidate to be an excellent role model for our pupils.
If you think you would fit perfectly into our school, we would encourage you to apply. You can view our website and social media accounts to gain an insight into our nurturing school.
