Summary
The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced School Business Manager with a proven track record of successful practice in the education to join our wonderfully supportive, friendly and nurturing school team. As our School Business Manager you will become a full part of our team, playing a pivotal role in the financial management of the school, ensuring that we operate efficiently and effectively within our budget.

You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
  • To be responsible for the business and financial management of school resources.
  • To manage the schools administrative function through planning, developing, designing and monitoring administrative systems and procedures.
  • To line manage welfare team, site staff and business support officer.
  • To assist the Headteacher and governing body with income generation activities and in promoting and marketing the school.
  • To manage the administration of human resources.
  • To manage the facilities, including premises, lettings and liaising with external contractors.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • GCSEs including Maths and English Grade C or above

  • Desirable Qualifications
  • Relevant professional qualification or qualification in School Business Management, e.g., CSBM, DSBM or commitment to work towards

  • Essential Experience
  • Experience of working within a school office environment 
  • Experience of relevant financial management, managing budgets, financial reporting, procurement and fixed assets 
  • Experience of Payroll systems

  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience of Managing staff teams, including their professional development and performance management 
  • Experience in managing Premises and Health & Safety
  • Experience of line managing admin and site staff.
