Summary
We are looking for a skilled sports coach who can actively support our school and is determined to achieve the very best for every child. The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with our other support staff, under the direction of the PE leader, to continue to develop and enhance PE & Sport in our school.

Specific Duties will include:
  • Planning and delivering structured PE lessons supported by the class teacher
  • Tracking progress and keeping clear and accurate records
  • Provide accurate feedback to pupils so they clearly understand what they need to do to move their learning forward.
  • Working collaboratively with class teachers and PE subject leader
  • Running before and after school sports clubs daily taking pupils to sporting competitions

    The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of PE in the National Curriculum, the Lancashire scheme of work and recent training and experience in delivering PE in primary school. 
    The ability to work as part of a team, clear communication and the ability to manage own workload is essential. The successful candidate will be required to undertake training to drive the school’s minibus.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • Qualified to National Governing Body Level 2 with the relevant experience for the coaching role.
  • NVQ level 2 or above qualification –appropriate to the post (or equivalent).
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Desirable Qualifications
  • First Aid Qualification.
  • Other sports training with National Governing Body, Sports Coach UK or similar.
  • Essential Experience
  • Experience of coaching in schools.
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment.
