The Governors of Fishwick Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Family Support Worker from September 2024 or as soon as possible after that date.

Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we need to appoint a friendly and highly motivated School Family Support Worker, who will work with our Senior Leadership Team to support our families.

Fishwick is situated in East Preston, with good links to the M6.  The area in which our school is set is characterised by a relatively high level of social-economic deprivation, but we work hard to actively create a warm, happy atmosphere that ensures our children and families feel secure, welcome and supported.

As our School Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in our school team. We welcome applications from experienced professionals with a passion for working with families needing extra support.  The successful candidate will be resilient, confident, able to communicate effectively, able to work calmly under pressure and have the ability to relate to both children and adults.

This position is term time only plus 5 days during school holidays. Please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

A driving license is essential as you may accompany parents to meetings and will be expected to attend meetings. Training will also be organised for the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

The school is committed to safeguarding children and this post is subject to a check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

CVs are not accepted, to apply for this vacancy you need to complete the application form attached.
