Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our school family who pride themselves on an environment where children are valued and everyone, staff and children, live our school values every day.  The appointment will suit someone with high expectations of behaviour and achievement from all children. 

You will be required to work with small groups of SEN children, some 1:1 SEN support and some classroom support for an assigned year group for the balance of your hours - so you must be flexible and respond to the needs of the school as appropriate and instructed by your Line Manager.

We are looking for an individual who is: 

  • a creative, knowledgeable and energetic personality with a ‘can do’ attitude who has high expectations of our pupils. 
  • able to establish positive relationships with children and adults to become a committed member of our school family. 
  • an experienced practitioner, able to assist in the monitoring/recording of pupil progress and development 
  • able to support the promotion of positive relationships with parents, children and all stakeholders in a calm and patient manner
  • understands the needs children in EYFS and Key Stage One and Key Stage 2.

    The post available is initially for 30 hours per week on a variable hour’s contract, with the minimum hours being 17, however initially employed working 8:30-3:30pm Monday to Friday with a 1 hour lunch break.  Part of the duties of the successful applicant may include lunchtime duties (paid in addition).

    This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis. 

    The school governors take the issue of safeguarding the pupils and the successful candidate will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS Certificate .

  • Essential Qualifications

    Childcare/Teaching Assistant relevant qualification (Min. Level 2)

    Maths & English Grade C / 4 or equivalent 

    Desirable Qualifications

    First Aid

    Essential Experience

    Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age

    Ability to work as part of a team

    Good communication, time management & organisational skills

    Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality

    Desirable Experience

    Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment

    Experience of Administrative work

    Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
