Summary
The Governors of Larkholme Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teaching assistant to join our hardworking, caring team at this successful primary school, to include lunchtimes. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Work closely with the Key Stage 2 class teachers to support the learning and enhance quality first teaching
  • Deliver literacy and numeracy alongside the class teachers each morning
  • Have high expectations of children’s work and behaviour and positively reinforce all aspects of school life
  • Have a passion for developing children’s learning and supporting children with additional learning needs
  • Establish supportive and constructive relationships with children, staff and parents
  • Be committed to whole-school life and be willing to support extra-curricular activities and school events if required
  • Show a willingness to develop and engage in continuous professional development

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Knowledge of Attachment and Trauma Informed Practice (ATIP) as a framework to underpin all the work we undertake with our pupils
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within KS2
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with young children.
  • A patient, caring, and creative approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

    PLEASE NOTE:

    The role is initially 20 hours 55 mins per week (term time only). This will be a variable hours contract with a minimum of 8 hours per week guaranteed. The salary quoted is the full time equivalent the salary paid with be pro-rata.  This is a fixed term position in the first instance August 2025, however there may be the opportunity for the post to be extended beyond that period.
