Summary
Balshaw Lane Primary is a forward thinking, growing school.  Our staff are welcoming and supportive.

We wish to appoint a full-time teaching assistant to support as a one to one to support an individual child with SEN.  The TA could work with individual children and small groups, helping the teacher to monitor progress. 

There will be focus on phonics, math, reading and writing development.

The role is full-time, working 8.55am-3.20pm. The contract will be for 38 weeks, term time. 

We are an Outstanding school, as judged by Ofsted, with an enthusiastic and committed staff team. Our teaching assistants are friendly and positive with a range of experience.

We require our TAs to be hard-working, hands-on and able to use initiative independently. You will be involved in the daily practicalities of the classroom, including relating to medical and hygiene needs or supporting children with SEN.  Training will be provided for first aid, any medical or SEN needs.  A friendly, positive attitude will enable you to fit into our team.

Essential Experience

Have the ability and experience to work at a level of understanding and competence equivalent to NVQ Level 2 TA

Ability to speak and write in Standard English

Desirable Experience

GCSE maths and English Grade C or above

and/or
Experience of working with children with SEND/SEMH
