Summary
Teaching Assistant level 2b “Ashton Community Science College continues to be a Good School”.  (Ofsted 2023) Grade 5 £23,893 - £25,979 Full Year Value.  Pro rata salary £17,473 - £18,998 Term Time only salary. Term Time only – 38 weeks plus 2 days. Part-time 31 hours and 40 minutes per week. Start date as soon as possible. We are looking for dedicated, skilled and ambitious professionals to join our learning support department as we expand our team within school.  Our SEND provision has 4 key elements and we anticipate successful candidates potentially working across all areas.  Mainstream provision for students with EHCP or identified SEN needs Unit for SLCN students SERF for deaf students BRIDGE facility for year 7 students who require additional support as they move towards being more secondary ready. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, to take a role in supporting the learning of students with special educational needs so they can participate fully and positively in learning and school life. Some of these students will have Education Health Care Plans, whilst others will have needs identified by school. The successful candidate will have:
  • A passion for supporting and managing young people that goes beyond mere qualifications
  • Previous experience of working with secondary age children in education, health or social services        
  • Excellent communication skills with families, carers and students
  • Knowledge of procedures, practices and techniques for behaviour management
  • Experience of supporting students in building self-confidence, self-esteem and resilience as learners.
