Summary
Due to the promotion of our family liaison worker, Whitefield Primary School are seeking to appoint a calm, positive and nurturing person to lead on day to day family support and to deliver pastoral support and interventions to identified children. This role will include liaising with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and class teachers.

Hours of work will be three days working 8.30am – 3.30pm for three days a week and two days working 8.30am – 4.45pm however there will need to be some flexibility to meet the needs of our children and their families.  This role is term time only.

The role includes working as part of our play team at lunchtime supporting the children with our OPAL play.

At times you may need to go to meetings so a clean driving license and access to a car is essential.

A willingness to undertake professional development for example DSL training is essential.

  • Essential Qualifications
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Desirable Qualifications
  • Working at national occupational standards (NOS) for learning, and knowledge / skills equivalent to current national qualifications in learning, development and support services for children, young people and those who care for them at level 3
  • Essential Experience
  • Working with children or families
  • Desirable Experience
  • Has previous experience of working with children and their families 
  • Has experience of working in a team.
  • Has experience of aspects of child protection.
  • Is confident and proactive.
  • Has excellent organisational skills.
