Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - PE Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic HLTA to join our thriving primary school! 

About the Role: 
  • Leading PE lessons: You will plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils, promoting a love of physical activity and healthy lifestyles. 
  • Developing a thriving PE program: You will work collaboratively with the PE lead to develop and implement a comprehensive PE program that aligns with the National Curriculum. 
  • Building school spirit: You will be responsible for organising and training teams to participate in both inter-school competitions and friendly competitions within the school, fostering teamwork and a sense of school spirit. 
  • Supporting Year 4 teachers: You will provide valuable support to teachers in a dedicated Year 4 class, working with small groups or individual pupils to ensure their learning flourishes. 
  • Making playtime meaningful: You will organise and supervise lunchtime play activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment that encourages social interaction and physical activity. 
  • Contributing to a positive learning environment: You will work collaboratively with staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all pupils. 

    We are looking for someone who: 
  • Is a qualified HLTA (or working towards it) or equivalent qualification. 
  • Has a strong passion for PE and a proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons. 
  • Is a natural team builder and motivator, able to inspire young people to participate actively. 
  • Is a well-organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • HLTA Qualification (Level 4) or equivalent or in the process of achieving the qualification
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above
