Summary
Basnett Street Nursery School is looking to appoint a School Business Support Officer.  We are a Nursery School with 106 children on role.  We also have an onsight private provision that the school supports called The Chatterbox Club, which has an additional 64 children on roll.  We are looking for a committed individual who will join our team to support the overall schools business systems, that crucially underpin our overall effectiveness.  We are looking for someone that is hardworking, highly organised and efficient in their working practice.  The successful candidate must be a team player that has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm, while working in a high-pressure environment.  The successful candidate will also need to be confident in the use of Microsoft Software (especially Word and Excel).  Excellent and proven IT skills are essential and training will be provided to support the successful candidate in specific MIS and finance packages used in school.

Hours are 37 per week:
  • Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri - 8.15-4pm
  • Wed - 8.15-4.45

    Attendance at termly Governor meetings will also be required.
  • Essential Qualifications
  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent C or above, including maths and English.

  • Desirable Qualifications
  • Level 3 Business and Administration qualification (or equivalent)
  • Commitment to work towards the Certificate in School Business Management.
  • CSBM or equivalent. 

  • Essential Experience
  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Experience with payment systems and receipting.
  • Experience of Microsoft IT software packages.
  • Experience of the maintenance of computerised packages.
  • Experience of maintaining financial accounts in preparation for audit.
  • Experience of the management of budgets.
  • Experience of undertaking procurement processes.
  • Experience of managing administrative systems.
  • Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working in a school environment.
  • Experience of schools financial systems e.g. SIMs.net/FMS.
  • Experience of managing staff.
  • Experience of supporting safer recruitment procedures.
  • Experience of supporting premise management.
