    We are seeking a dedicated School Bursar to join our primary school team in Chorley. This role is integral to the smooth running of our school office, providing financial and administrative support. The successful candidate will have experience with SIMS and Oracle systems and prior experience in a school office environment.

    Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the financial management of the school, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of funds.
  • Manage the school’s budget, including monitoring and reporting on income and expenditure.
  • Maintain financial records and prepare reports using SIMS and Oracle systems.
  • Assist with payroll administration and manage the school’s petty cash.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to support the overall administration of the school.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures within the school setting.
  • Provide support for the preparation of financial audits and liaise with auditors as required

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a school office environment.
  • Proficiency in using SIMS and Oracle systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting within an educational context.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
