Summary
Reed/LTA are currently looking for a motivated and experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a Preston based primary school in September. The successful candidate will be working full-time within a Key Stage 2 classroom, supporting the teacher and students to enhance the learning experience. Prior experience in KS2 is preferred, as it is essential to understand the educational needs and curriculum at this level.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist the KS2 teacher in preparing and delivering educational activities.
  • Support individual students or small groups to help them understand the material and complete tasks.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
  • Help manage classroom resources and setup for lessons.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
  • Assist with the organisation and supervision of out-of-classroom activities, such as field trips.
  • Contribute to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment.<

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within KS2.
  • Good understanding of the KS2 curriculum and classroom practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to supporting children’s educational and social development.
