The governors of Ormskirk Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher from the 1st January 2027. This vacancy has arisen following the promotion of our current Deputy Headteacher to Headteacher, reflecting our strong commitment to leadership development and succession planning. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, driven and experienced leader to take on the role of Deputy Headteacher at a warm, happy and caring school with a distinctly Christian ethos.
The role will be non-class based enabling the successful candidate to fully immerse themselves in a leadership role, but there will be a regular and varied teaching commitment across school and key stages. We are dedicated to nurturing the whole child, and we pride ourselves on our high standards and quality care. We have experienced and dynamic staff who are well supported by the governors.
Our vibrant school offers a unique learning journey from our baby room and nursery through to Year 6. Combined with our extensive grounds, swimming pool and ongoing investment in digital technology, this provides a rich and varied leadership opportunity. The successful candidate will help shape provision across all phases of the school and play a key role in ensuring every child thrives from their earliest experiences through to the end of primary education.
Our school building and site is one of the largest in Lancashire and this presents many opportunities as well as challenges for school management. The school is buzzing with activities, opportunities, and creative work. The children are warm and have a healthy sense of fun. If you think you are the person to help lead our team and can bring a lot of energy, versatility, expertise, positivity, and enthusiasm, please apply.
