The Governors of Peel Park Primary School are seeking to appoint a Year 6 temporary teacher (maternity cover) to join our school team.

The position is full-time and will begin on 3rd March 2026 and will continue until postholder returns to work (approximately Jan 2027)

The role will involve:

Working within a three-form entry Year 6 classroom, sharing planning and meeting the needs of the year group with the other Year 6 teachers.

Working alongside and supporting a highly committed and caring staff team.

Working alongside the SLT and SENDCo to support children with additional needs.

Liaising with staff in terms of adapting plans to suit individual needs, providing feedback to staff regarding pupils, and maintaining records for pupils.

Opportunities to lead extra-curricular activities, such as after-school clubs.

Leading a subject across our school (if appropriate)

Essential Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status

Degree or equivalent

Recent professional development appropriate to the role

Desirable Qualifications

Successful completion of induction period (NQT induction/Two year ECT period)

First Aid qualification

Essential Experience

Successful experience of effective teaching within the primary phase and across key stages.

Recent and relevant experience of teaching the National Curriculum

Desirable Experience

Core subject leadership
