Information
The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint a talented, compassionate, and resilient Teacher to join our dedicated team in a temporary role from January 2026 until August 2026, with the possibility of becoming permanent from September 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a class of 9 children working on our Being/Doing Pathway, working alongside a team of Teaching Assistants to provide high-quality, personalised learning experiences for pupils with a range of needs such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

Over time, there may be opportunities to work across other groups within the school.

Our school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for primary-aged children who benefit from smaller class sizes, consistent routines, and a therapeutic approach to learning.

We are looking for a practitioner who:

  • Is an excellent classroom teacher, passionate about supporting children with SEMH/ASC/SLCN to achieve their full potential
  • Has a strong understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Can use a range of autism and SEMH-specific strategies to engage and motivate pupils.
  • Can lead and inspire a class team to create a safe, consistent, and emotionally secure learning environment.
  • Is confident in supporting pupils with behaviour regulation and committed to using positive, restorative, and de-escalation approaches.
  • Values partnership working with families, therapists, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to learning and wellbeing.

    In return, we offer:

  • A warm and welcoming school community with a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Pupils who are eager to learn and thrive on positive relationships.
  • A comprehensive programme of professional development, including training in therapeutic and autism-specific approaches.
  • Access to a range of health and wellbeing benefits, including a representative wellbeing team, occupational health support, counselling and many more.
  • A salary on the Main Pay Scale (M3–M6) + 1 SEN Point

Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2025), an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
