The pupils, staff and Governors of Crawshawbooth Primary School are looking to appoint an energetic and dedicated Headteacher who has a passion for learning and the ability to lead our enthusiastic team of staff and inspire our school community. It is essential that our new Headteacher is an excellent communicator to children, parents, carers, staff, and governors so that we can continue the growth of exemplary teamwork throughout the school to ensure that the school culture is best for teaching and learning. Crawshawbooth already comprises a superb cohort of teaching and ancillary staff, our requirement is for a Headteacher that matches the enthusiasm, dedication, and ambition of that team.

Our school is situated in the rural valley of Rossendale in Lancashire. We have just over 300 children on roll who are keen to learn in a supportive and friendly environment. The children are the heart of our school and it’s essential that we have a Headteacher who can lead primarily with kindness and inclusivity of all children.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a school at the heart of its community and take our school on to the next stage of our journey, by incorporating a clear vision for our future development and plan what that journey might look like. You will be supported by an excellent team of staff and a dynamic, forward thinking governing board.
It is an exciting opportunity for the Headteacher who, as a dynamic, innovative, and experienced professional, will lead the school to become the best it can be and fully meet the needs of the community it serves in an ever-changing educational landscape.

You will:
  • Have a proven record of planning for and raising achievement across the school and the skills to maintain and accelerate pupil progress and attainment;

    We can offer you:
  • A happy, caring, and supportive school, with well-behaved children who respect each other and have a passion for learning;
  • An excellent school location in a beautiful area;
  • A Governing Body that is committed to providing support on all matters including more sensitive or difficult issues including the wellbeing of all. They are experienced, committed, and passionate about our school and wish to ensure our children reach their full potential;
  • Support from the parents, a dedicated staff team and the Local Authority; and
