Whittlefield Primary and Nursery School in Burnley wish to recruit an inspirational and strategic headteacher with the skills and abilities to build on our excellent achievements to date and who will uphold our ethos and strong sense of family. Central to our approach and integral to our culture is the inclusivity and nurture of our children, supporting their growth, achievement, and happiness.

Our children would especially welcome a Headteacher who:
• Is approachable and a good listener and believes in them
• Is kind, caring and empathetic but who can also be fun
• Will encourage, inspire and motivate them in their learning
• Will continue some of our local traditions as well as introducing exciting new ideas

Key attributes also expected within the role, will be a determination to achieve school improvement, which will be based on a thorough knowledge of latest curriculum approaches and a passion for the learning and development of each and every child. Especially in current times, the ability to react positively and promptly to latest government guidance, communicating any changes, approaches or information in a calm, balanced and informative manner to the school community is also important.

Our school is located just off junction 10 of the M65 and holds accessible rail, road and public transport links. Burnley as a town is surrounded by lovely countryside, is centrally located close to major cities, has housing that is competitively priced and not forgetting our premier league football team.
