We are seeking to appoint an experienced, flexible and outstanding teacher of English and Humanities to join our committed education team within an NHS inpatient setting for children and young people from age 13-18. The ability to contribute to the teaching of PHSE would be welcome.

We provide education for young people unable to access mainstream while they are inpatients within this NHS Tier 4 mental health setting. Pupils can be Lancashire residents or residents of other local authorities. Pupils remain on their school or college roll and our team liaise with school and college staff to provide continuity in education and to support reintegration. Pupils have a wide range of abilities. Some may present with special educational needs and some are recognised as high achievers by their schools and families. The priority is to support each child and young person to access education and make progress. The team delivers an in-centre timetable and reintegration support to pupils in Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

The NHS Cove team provides assessment and diagnosis of the mental health needs of children and young people. Education staff, as part of the multi-disciplinary team, work closely with clinical colleagues and professionals for other agencies and schools, therefore the ability to work collaboratively and have good communication skills is essential.

This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.
