Following the promotion of the current post holder to Headteacher at another local Church of England Primary School, the Governing Body of Bolton-le-Sands C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic Deputy Headteacher. The applicant will have a strong Christian faith and be able to work in partnership with the Headteacher, and whole school family, in leading the future development of this 'outstanding' school (OFSTED March 2008, SIAMS April 2018).

Bolton-le-Sands Church of England Primary school is a beautiful and popular, coastal village school set in the north of Lancashire with excellent access to the motorway network and stunning views across the bay. Currently, there are 307 pupils on roll taught across eleven mixed-age classes.

    The Governing Body is looking for a Deputy Headteacher who:
  • Is a practising Christian with regular involvement in the life of the church
  • Works hard as part of a team and will support the leadership of the Christian vision of our school
  • Has high expectations and will challenge, inspire and encourage staff to achieve the best outcomes for themselves and our children
  • Through whole school leadership opportunities (such as subject leadership), is able to show successful and positive impact across all primary phases in a variety of areas
  • Is organised and pays attention to detail, carrying out the role with precision, care and enthusiasm
  • Has the ability to be flexible and adapt to unknown situations quickly and effectively
  • Is friendly, fair and able to deal effectively and positively with a wide range of pupil behaviours
  • Is able to maintain positive relationships will pupils, colleagues, parents and the wider community
  • Has a great sense of humour

    The Governing Body takes safeguarding the pupils of our school very seriously, and to this end, the successful candidate will be required to obtain an enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service. The information you provide will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice. The successful candidate will also be required to provide documentary proof of identity and qualifications.
