‘Dare to dream…. work hard to achieve’

The Governors of Fishwick Primary School are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and dedicated teachers to enhance our current staff team.

Fishwick Primary is a small school situated in East Preston, with good links to the M6. The area in which our school is set is characterised by a relatively high level of social-economic deprivation, but we work hard to actively create a warm, happy atmosphere that enables our children to feel secure and to work towards their individual goals.  Our mission statement ‘Dare to dream…. work hard to achieve’ reflects our ethos and we encourage everyone at Fishwick to be the best they can be, to aim high and stick at it.

We are looking to appoint two outstanding teachers to work with our KS1 children.  Teamwork, strong behaviour management and a commitment to inclusion are essential.  In return we can offer you small class sizes, a friendly and supportive environment with experienced and enthusiastic staff.

We actively encourage a visit to school, or a telephone conversation with the Headteacher.  Please telephone the office to arrange this.

Please note we have one position which is permanent and the other is temporary.  Please indicate in your application if you are only interested in the permanent position.

Rehabilitation The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Information provided by you or the Disclosure and Barring Service will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with the DBS's Code of Practice. You may view the Code of Practice on the DBS website at www.gov.uk/dbs or alternatively a copy is available on request. Lancashire County Council has a Handling of DBS Certificate Information Policy this is available from the recruiting manager to applicants who are asked to complete a DBS application.

Lancashire County Council has a Policy Statement on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders this is available to all applicants upon request.

The school is committed to safeguarding children and this post is subject to a check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

CVs are not accepted, to apply for this vacancy you need to complete the application form attached.
